No experience necessary - just be creative or sit in:
Like me I'm sure you have items in your wardrobe that you aren't wearing anymore but can't part with. My attitude is "Oh, I loved the fabric but the style is out" or "it's just too cute to part with" or "darn, how did that spot get on there"? Whatever the reason; here is the opportunity to explore a way to make use of them again.
Bring in at least 3 and up to 8 pieces you want to hang onto, are willing to chop (means: CUT) and upcycle. The fabric can be from T-shirts, blouses, dresses, sweaters, scarves or even yardage you may have on-hand. Include a top you especially like the way it fits too.
In this workshop we are going to discuss fabric. Why and how to blend knits and weaves and when not to. What color and patteren may mean to you. How to incorporate. We will explore good textiles and great ones.
Limited to 4 active people with an addon for 4 that may sit in. The class will last for 2 hours with added time for sewing that can be scheduled.
Within the studio is a bank of commercial sewing machines including sergers and straight stitch machines. You will have the to ability to use these machines if you feel comfortable. Commercial machines run on powerful motors, are workhourses but can be intimidating. The studio also takes no liability for injuries that could occur from the machines and a mandatory waiver must be signed prior to use. If you are uncomfortable with using the sewing equipment arrangements can be made to sew your creation. The studio reserves the right to charge for that service.
This class is suitalbe for teens up.
Below is the waiver that must be signed before attending the class. The Waiver will be at the studio. It is not necessary to print and bring.
