I love the combination of old and new. “Something old and something new…” - kinda like that.
I have a complete fascination with the old half porcelain dolls. Originally they were primarily used as the toppers for pin cushions. (I’ve made and offer those here in other listings). This time I literally took the half doll at her pose. Made her into a beach bather - like that way the roarin twenties would have looked to me. Her trousers are hand knit in red and off white cotton. Complete with a braided belt.
Her shoes are made from mache and paper clays. I then hand painted it and sealed it with a heavy lacquer.
